Ingredients
  

  • 1 loaf French baguette or Italian bread
  • 1/2 cup 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 –4 cloves garlic finely minced or crushed
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional: 1/4 cup grated Parmesan or 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the softened butter with minced garlic, chopped parsley, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
  3. Slice the bread in half lengthwise or into thick slices, depending on preference.
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over each piece of bread, ensuring full coverage.
  5. Place the bread on a baking sheet, buttered side up.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy.
  7. For cheesy garlic bread, sprinkle cheese on top in the last 2–3 minutes of baking and return to oven until melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from oven, slice, and serve warm.
